Welcome to a new pattern making class, in today’s class, I’m going to teach you how to make classic baggy trousers.
The classic baggy trousers are characterized by falling straight from the hip to the hem without being tight at the rear.
I have also added a yoke as a decorative element to make a dart transformation but obviously, this is optional.
Today’s class is very interesting as you will learn how to modify the trousers leg in 2 different ways.
You have to learn that both forms are important since depending on the final fabric you will have to use one or the other.
Although both techniques will give you baggy shape trousers, the final design is not exactly identical, something you will see in today’s video.
Today’s class begins by transforming the trousers blocks patterns where we will give them the corresponding ease.
As you already know, when we make loose trousers, we usually lower the crotch so that the trousers are balanced but for today’s class, we are going to do that later on.

As always, I am going to give you all the necessary measurements to make the same design that I have done, but remember that you can change them to your personal taste.
Off camera, I have added a straight waistband but you can finish this pattern in another way.
Remember that if you have any questions about today’s class, you can always send me an email, through your user account in the support section.

You already know that the best way to learn industrial pattern making is by practising, so for today’s class I’m going to ask you to make the patterns for these trousers.
You can make these patterns at full size or half scale.
Please, try to send me photos where the patterns and their annotations are clearly visible so that I can send you better feedback.
