How to sew the shirt collar, yoke and placket

Welcome to this new sewing class, in today’s class I am going to teach you how to make the parts of the shirt.

In the previous class, I taught you how to make the patterns that we are going to make today, so I recommend that you see that class first.

Remember to pre-shrink the fabric before cutting the patterns and to cut all the patterns respecting the grainline.

The class begins by sewing the pattern darts, as I told you in the previous class, you can transform the darts to your liking.

Then you will learn how to sew the grow-up placket. Remember that when we make women’s clothing, the plate has to be closed from right to left and the opposite when we make men’s clothing.

Then I will teach you a technique to sew the yoke and make it clean both outside and inside.

To finish, I am going to teach you how to sew the shirt collar step by step. Remember that as I explained in the previous class, we have to fuse one or both layers of the pattern.
