Welcome to a new sewing class, in today’s class, I’m going to teach you how to sew a fake pocket.
These pockets are classified as fake since their function is simply aesthetic and they are not functional pockets.
In today’s class I’m going to show you 2 different types of pockets, the difference is that the first one sticks out of the fabric and the second one is inside the fabric.
Just below the video of today’s class, you can download the patterns so you can sew these pockets with me.
Remember to print these patterns in real size so that you can follow the class without any problem.
The first thing we will do in today’s class is pre-shrink the fabric and cut it according to the instructions you will find in the patterns.
Once we have everything cut, we will start sewing these pockets.
We will start with the first pocket, which is the easiest to make but is less common than the second and is found mainly on jackets.
Then we will sew the second pocket, which is mainly found on the back of the trousers.

As always, I will give you all the measurements so you can follow this sewing class, but these measurements may change depending on the pattern.
Here, it will depend on the seam allowance that the pattern maker has decided to add to the patterns. In this case, I have added the standard seam allowance.
Remember that if you have any questions about today’s class, you can always send me an email through your student account, in the support section.

Use these patterns to do these exercises.
