Welcome to a new sewing alterations class, in today’s class, I’m going to teach you how to make a patch for a pair of jeans.
In other words, making a patch is fixing a hole in the middle of the garment.
You can make patches in different ways, today I am going to show you a way that makes a repair that is almost “invisible”
For today’s class, we are going to fix or patch the corner of the back pockets, although you can use these techniques that you will learn today anywhere in your jeans.
This repair is very common as the corner of the pocket is a pressure point and breaks easily.
Today’s class begins by making a sample on a piece of fabric so you can see what I’m doing with a contrasting thread.
Since once we go to fix the jean I am going to use a thread of the same color as the jean so it is more difficult to see the repair.

As you will see in today’s class, it is important that you add a bit of fabric to the inside of your jeans to make them stronger.
Remember that if you have any questions about today’s class, you can always send me an email through your account, in the support section.

As you already know, the best way to learn sewing alterations is by practicing, so for today’s class, I’m going to ask you to make a patch on a pair of jeans.
If it is your first time making a patch, I recommend that you use a jean that you are going to throw away or buy a pair of second-hand jeans to do all your tests.
Send me before and after photos so I can appreciate the final result, also add photos of the process so I can send you better comments.
