Welcome to a new pattern making class, in today’s class I’m going to teach you how to make a V-neck with a ruffle.
Depending on the country you are from, this collar is also known as a frill collar, for me, a frill is a ruffle that is sewn in a vertical seam.
Today’s class begins by modifying the bodices, before making the collar, where I teach you how to make the V-neck and we talk about whether or not it is necessary to make corrective darts.
Then we will go on to make the ruffle neck, there are different ways to make this neck, today I show you one of my favourite ways.
Today we will review the facing all in one, to clean the neckline and the armhole, remember that you have a class where I explain them in detail.
As you will see in today’s class, you can finish the ruffle in the way that you like the most, you can see different ways in the finishing class.
You already know that all the measures that I give you are only a reference and you can modify them as you or your client like the most.
As always, if you have any questions about today’s class, remember that you can send me an email through your user account, in the support section.
Submit your exercises
Remember that the best way to learn pattern making is by practising, so for today’s class, I am going to ask you to do the exercises that we have done today.
Send me the collar pattern and the modified body patterns with their corresponding facing.
You already know that you can send me these exercises in full size or half scale.
Please try to send me photos where the patterns and their annotations are seen in a clear and precise way so that I can send you better comments.
