Welcome to a new pattern making class. In today’s class, we are going to make the slanted pocket.
We can find this pocket in different garments such as skirts, trousers and dresses. For today’s class, we are going to make this pocket in trousers.
Today’s class starts by making a classic slanted pocket, this pocket is the one we find in most trousers on the market today.
I will then show you how to modify these patterns to change the quality of the slanted pocket.
Remember that when we change quality, it does not mean that it is better or worse, we have to do it according to the market where we are going to go.
One of the reasons we can change the quality may be that the lining is showing, so we’ll need to add a facing.
Another reason is that the main fabric is very expensive and we need to use less to make the garment profitable.
