Welcome to the introduction of this course, here I am going to explain the best way to take advantage of my classes.
Your first lesson with me is text only but for the rest of the lessons you will have pre-recorded classes so you can watch them as many times as you need.
You already know that from the first day, you can access all my classes, but I recommend that you start from the top to the bottom of your lesson list.
How do I access the lesson list?
Very easy, simply go to the website (ProfessorPattern.com), and press the “login” button (top right), here you will have to enter your email and password.

Once you are connected to the website, you can access your “user account” where, among other things, you have a list of all the lessons available to you.
Once you finish a lesson you can mark it as completed, that lesson will change colour and a tick (✓) will appear so you can better track your classes and know what you still have to complete.
Where do I start?

Depending on your level you can start wherever you want, but I recommend that you start from the top and work your way down.
I recommend that you do it this way because I will assume that you already know the theory that I have explained in the classes higher up the lesson list.
A clear example would be if you want to see a neckline class but you didn’t watch the corrective darts class, you won’t know what measurements we are removing.
What do I do when I enter a lesson?
First of all, I recommend that you read the class description so that you get an idea of what you will learn.
Then watch the video of the class. These classes work best if you just watch them at first and then watch again when you want to put the lesson into practice. The classes are intended to have a good pace so they don’t get boring.
Here, if you want, you can take notes on the theory that I will explain to you and why we do things. I do not recommend that you take down measurements.
Once you have seen it, now it is your turn to try, here you can do it in several ways, you can watch the class again and pause the video at each step or you can slow down the video from the player.
Keep in mind that so you can see the patterns better on camera, I work at half scale but I will give you all the measurements using my voice/subtitles at real size.
Do you like classes even faster? No problem, from the player you can also speed up the class.
Simply press the wheel icon on the player and change the speed, here you can also change the video quality.

All my classes are in English but I also add English subtitles so you can follow my classes better.
Simply press “CC” on the player to activate subtitles.
Also in the subtitles, you will find the conversion from centimetres to inches*
*My oldest classes do not have the inches conversion yet.
What if I have any questions?
Now that you are doing it, the most normal thing is that you have questions, simply go to your user account and in the support section send me an email.
Please try to send me your question in detail and the minute of the video that you don’t understand so I can answer you better.
I usually respond from Monday to Friday quite quickly, so make sure that my email has not reached your Junk Email folder (SPAM).
I know it’s very tempting to write to me on social media or leave a comment in the class post but please use the support system as I get hundreds of messages a day on my social media and I may not see your question.
Do I have to do the exercises?
The exercises are optional but the best way to learn is to do it with your own hands.
In most classes, you will find a “Send your exercises” section where you can send me the exercises I ask for.
When you send me your exercises I will reply to you with an email with the result and what you can improve, this can take up to 7 days.
What system am I going to learn?
Each system has its things that I like more and its things that I like less, throughout my years of experience I have created my system taking what I liked most about each one.
I mix a combination of systems that come from different countries such as Spain, the United Kingdom, Japan and the United States.
Some terminology changes depending on what country you are from, and that’s okay, the important thing is that you learn how to do it, and then call it whatever you want.
Your new path begins here!
And that’s it for the introduction of my classes, you are now prepared for your first class. Press the button that says “complete lesson” and go to the next class.

Hello, I have signed on to your class and hoping to learn how to make the bodice block especially.
May I know when it would be available on your website? What I see there now is only skirt
Thanks
Hello Francis,
this course is designed to start from the very beginning to more advance, we are starting from the skirt (and some transformations) and in a few weeks, we will do the bodice block and then we are going to do transformations for the bodice as well 🙂
