Welcome to this new pattern making class, in today’s class you will learn 2 very common transformations in trousers.
Remember that the good thing about learning these techniques is that you can reuse them in other garments such as skirts.
The class begins by teaching how to make the side panel, this technique is used both for sporty clothes and for much more formal or even party clothes.
This will depend on the fabrics you use, if for example, you use sequins on the stripes, it would be perfect trousers for a party.
Then we will go on to make the elastic waistband, for this, we will modify our trousers block, to have a little more volume in the upper part.

Remember that when we make the trousers patterns, the way to cut the fabric is very important so that the seam does not turn.
To sew these patterns is very easy, for the side panel, you just have to sew it almost in a straight line, respecting all the notches and you can finish the hem as you like.
Next week you will have a class dedicated exclusively to how to sew the elastic waistband.
As always, if you have any questions about this class you can send me an email through your user account in the support section.
Submit your exercises
The best way to learn pattern making is by doing it yourself, so for today’s class, I am going to ask you to send me the patterns with the transformation that we have made today.
You can modify the volume to your liking, but remember to mention it when you send me your exercises.
You already know that you can do this exercise in real size or on a half-scale.
Remember that so that I can correct the exercises, try to send me photos where the patterns and their annotations can be seen clearly.
