Welcome to a new pattern making class, in today’s lessons, I’m going to teach you how to make trousers with a half elasticated waistband.
Also, we will practice techniques that you have already learned in previous classes and you will learn new techniques.
In today’s class start by lowering the waist in our trousers block pattern and creating a curved waistband for the front.
One of the new techniques that you will learn today is how to transform the pattern to be able to sew the classic front zip.
Then we will transfer the front dart to the side seam and transform the back dart into volume.
After transforming the dart on the back, I decided to add more volume to make the design more attractive.
Remember that the amount of volume we want to add changes depending on the final fabric you want to use, so I recommend that you look at the how to add volume class first.
Also, we will not create a curved waistband for the back, but we will add a facing to be able to sew the elastic.

You already know that you can make these patterns in real size or half scale
Please try to send photos where the patterns and their annotations are clearly visible so that I can respond to you with better comments.
