Welcome to this pattern making class, in today’s class we are going to learn about the yoke and how to add volume.
The class begins by talking about the yoke. The yoke is that piece that we find in the upper part of a shirt, which helps us to make the garment look and fit better.
Although we can also find the yoke on skirts and pants, especially on the hips area.
Then we will talk about how much volume we have to add to our garments. This is when we will learn about ratios.
And then we will learn the different ways that we can add volume to our patterns.

As you will see in today’s class, we have returned to use the technique that I taught you a few times; slash and spread.
Here you can see some of the designs that we have made in today’s class, but remember that I want to give you the tools so that you can apply them to other designs too.

Remember that if you have any questions about this class, you can send me an email through the support tab of your personal account.

The best way to learn pattern making is to do it yourself, so for this class, I am going to ask you to send me the 3 patterns that I have made in the class.
The first one would be with volume in only 1 point, then another pattern with the same volume in 2 points and the last with different volume in 2 points.
Remember to send me photos where all your work can be seen well so that I can send you better feedback.
