Welcome to a new pattern making class, in today’s class, I am going to teach you how to make a skort.
The skort is characterized because if you look at it from the front it looks like a skirt with two openings but from the back and below it is short trousers.
These pants are also known as sports skirts.
Today’s class begins by transforming the front trousers block, where we will first decide the length of these trousers.
In my case, I have made it a little longer than the classic trousers but you can shorten it if you prefer.
Then we will have to decide the length of the front openings or splits, these openings help you walk or play sports.
I have decided to make some modest openings but you can enlarge them.
Then we will move on to making the front patterns, both the legs for the trousers and the skirt pattern that hides the legs.
We will finish today’s class by doing the back pattern.

As always, I am going to give you all the necessary measurements to make this skort but remember that you can change it to your personal taste.
Off camera, I added a straight waistband but you could also clean up the waist with a facing.
Remember that if you have any questions about today’s class, you can always send me an email through your student account, in the support section.
Send your exercises
You already know that the best way to learn is by practicing, so for today’s class I am going to ask you to make the skort patterns.
You can make these patterns at real size or half scale.
Please try to send me photos where the patterns and their annotations are clearly and accurately seen so that I can send you better feedback.
