How to make shorts – Hotpants

Welcome to a new pattern making class, in today’s class, I am going to teach you how to make shorts.

In previous classes, I have already taught you how to change the length of the trousers but when we make this measurement we have to make the pattern a little different.

Today’s class begins by transforming the trousers’ block patterns, first of all, we will shorten them to the desired size.

This type of trousers is usually found in fashion stores that are aimed at very young people, so it is more normal to remove the ease of movement.

After shortening these trousers to the desired length, we will have to transform the inside seam of the trousers so that they can be sewn.

As you will see in today’s class, the measurement of the outside seam and the inside seam are not parallel to achieve this design.

Then we will have to remove the ease that is in the thigh since this design is usually very tight.

As I will explain to you in today’s class, this can be done in several ways but I prefer to modify it in the prototype.

We will also go over how to lower the waist again and create a curved waistband.
