Welcome to a new pattern making class, in today’s class, I am going to teach you how to make a skirt block for a plus size person.
In previous classes I already taught you all the theory of the skirt block, in today’s class, we are going to put it into practice this theory with a plus size body.
A plus size body is characterized by having more volume and more pronounced curves.
Today’s class begins by looking at the difference in skirt block patterns from a standard size to a plus size.
Once we see these differences, I will take the opportunity to explain a little extra theory since at this point it is very visual and easy to understand.
Today we made a size 22 skirt, I am going to leave you all the necessary measurements to make the same pattern that I have made in the “Class Notes” section.
We will also learn a new way to get the width of the darts, this technique can be used in large or standard sizes.
Before watching this class, I recommend that you watch the previous classes since today we are going to expand on theory but I will not go into details of the theory that I have already explained.

Note that for today’s class, the way I recommend adding ease is with the seam allowance.
We do this so that when you practice the theory of dart width, you do not get confused.
Remember that if you have any questions about today’s class, you can always send me an email through your student account, in the support section.

You already know that the best way to learn is by practicing, so for today’s class, I am going to ask you to make the size 22 skirt block.
You can make this pattern full size or half scale.
Please try to send me photos where the patterns and their annotations are clearly visible so I can send you better feedback.
