How to make a classic waistcoat

Welcome to a new pattern making class, in today’s class, I’m going to teach you how to make a classic waistcoat.

Once you have learned how to create the classic silhouette, you can change it to suit your personal taste using the techniques you will learn today.

The classic waistcoat is characterized by a V-neckline with a button opening, a larger armhole and a pointed hem.

The shape of the hem can also change. I have decided to make the longest point of this point where the seam is, but you can put it more towards the centre if you prefer.

Today’s class starts with the pattern block of the bodices until the hip, where we will transform them to create this design.

Before watching this class I recommend you watch the corrective dart class so you understand what I’m doing.

Remember that the guide we created in the corrective dart class is just a guide, which we have to modify depending on the design we are going to make.
