Welcome to a pattern making class, in today’s class, we will learn how to make the chimney collar.
The chimney collar is a high neck collar that is characterized by the fact that it grows from the front and the back without a seam at the neckline.
Today’s class begins by transforming the front block pattern, where we will begin to talk about the ease that we can add to this collar so that it is not as tight as in the sample.
Then I will teach you the theory about the chimney neck and thanks to this theory you will be able to modify this neck as you like.
We will also see other designs of a chimney collar so that you understand all the necessary elements when making it.
Then we will make the pattern for the back where we will add the zip, although obviously, we can put the zip in another place.
To finish we will go on to make the facing of this collar where you will learn how to do it and thus you will see the importance so that you can maintain the shape of this neck.

As in all classes, I am going to give you all the necessary measurements to make the same sample that you will see in today’s class, but remember that you can change all these measurements to your personal taste or to the taste of your client.
For this class it is important that you use the correct interfacing (fusing) for the final fabric you will be using to prevent the collar from collapsing.
Remember that if you have any questions about today’s class, you can send me an email through your account, in the support section.
