How to make an asymmetrical skort

Welcome to a new pattern making class. In today’s class I’m going to teach you how to make an asymmetrical skort.

This skort is characterized by the fact that from the front it looks like a skirt but from behind it looks like a pair of trousers.

If you lift up the front skirt you can see that it is a short trousers, and the skirt part is asymmetrical and is only on one side.

Today’s class begins with the trousers block patterns, where first of all we will change the desired length.

We will need to make 2 different patterns for the front since in one of them we have to move the dart to hide it.

Then we will move on to making the patterns for the skirt, where we will make it asymmetrical and since part of the trousers will be visible underneath, it will look like a sarong skirt.

To clean the openings we will put a facing at the waist and for the skirt part we will put a hem.

As you will see in today’s class, this skirt hem can be changed depending on the type of finish you want.

It is important to walk through all patterns before cutting them into fabric to ensure everything works properly.

Remember that you always have to make a prototype before cutting these patterns with the final fabric.
