Welcome to a new pattern making class, in today’s class, I am going to teach you how to make a peasant collar.
The peasant collar is characteristic as it has a fairly wide neckline with a rounded shape and a ruffled neckline creating a romantic silhouette.
Today’s class begins by modifying the front neckline to create the shape of the neck.
As we are going to enlarge the neckline, we will have to remove the ease so before seeing this class it is advisable to see the class on corrective darts.
After removing the ease, we will move on to the back, since we need the neckline on the back to make this collar.
This neckline is quite wide and is designed so that you do not need a zip in the centre of the back.
Make sure that when you make the neckline, you have enough room to fit your head through the hole.
Next, we will go on to make the collar patterns, this collar is made up of 2 different patterns.
This collar is similar to the ruffled collar but we’ll use a different technique so you can see that we can do the same design in different ways.
After creating this neck we will move on to cleaning up the pattern, using an all-in-one facing.

As always, I am going to give you all the necessary measurements to make the same design that I do, but you know that you can change them to your personal taste.
You must also take into account the final fabric that you are going to use, thinner fabrics will need to add more volume to create the same silhouette.
Remember that if you have any questions about today’s class, you can always send me an email through your user account, in the support section.

You already know that the best way to learn industrial pattern making is by practising, so for today’s class, I’m going to ask you to make the peasant collar.
You can make these patterns at real size or half scale.
Please, try to send me photos where the patterns and their annotations can be seen clearly and precisely so that I can send you better feedback.
