Welcome to this new pattern making class, in today’s class we will learn how to make this High-waisted pencil skirt with a split at the back.
I have designed this skirt so that you can learn different techniques and at the same time you can make a skirt that is very fashionable.
The first technique you will learn is how to make a high-waisted skirt.
The second is how to make a pencil skirt, in other words, we are going to transform the bottom of the skirt to make a pencil shape.
The third technique you will learn is how to make an opening or vent in the skirt.
We have to cut openings when making straight or pencil skirts longer than a miniskirt.
The reason is that we need that opening to be able to walk, if we did not have it, the bottom of the skirt would be very narrow and would make us walk like a robot.
There are different types of openings for our garments, today you will learn how to make a professional opening but its quite easy to do.
Then you can finish the opening by sewing it by hand or machine and you can finish it with a bias tape or with the overlock.
If you have any questions you can send me an email through your user account, in the support section.

As you already know, the best way to learn pattern making is by doing it yourself.
So for this class, I am going to ask you to make this pattern so that you can practice all these techniques.
Please remember that to be able to send you better feedback, send me photos where the pattern and annotations are clearly seen.
