Welcome to a new pattern making class. In today’s class, I’m going to teach you how to make a top with thin straps.
In the fashion world, we know these types of thin straps as spaghetti straps, very thin straps that we can find in many garments today.
This top is a perfect exercise to continue practising corrective darts for that reason I recommend that you first see the corrective darts class if you haven’t seen it yet.
Today’s class begins by transforming our patterns block so that they can have the desired shape.
Once we have the shape we want, we will remove the ease from the pattern to make sure that the pattern is perfect and does not get out of hand.
Once we understand the corrective darts, it is time to complicate it a bit, so today you will learn another way to mark them so that the pattern is cleaner.
Also, in today’s class, I am going to teach you how to make the pattern to make this type of strap and in future classes, I will teach you how to sew them.
To finish today’s class, we will make the facings for today’s patterns to be able to clean the seams.

As in all my classes, today I am also going to give you all the necessary measurements to make the design that you can see on the cover, but remember that you can change all these measurements to your personal taste or your client’s taste.
Also, remember that I use standard measurements when I remove the ease in theese patterns, in the corrective darts class I already taught you how to take these measurements.
As always, if you have any questions about today’s class, remember that you can send me an email through your personal account, in the support section.
Submit your exercises
You already know that the best way to learn industrial pattern making is by practicing, that’s why for today’s class I’m going to ask you to make the patterns we’ve made today.
You already know that you can give me this exercise in real size or half scale
Please, try to send me photos where both the final patterns and their annotations are clearly visible so that I can send you better feedback.
