Welcome to a new pattern making class. In today’s class, I’m going to teach you how to make a half circle sleeve.
Also in today’s class, you will learn how to lower the armhole correctly and I will teach you how to modify the sleeve for the new armhole.
Today’s class starts by modifying our bodices block/sloper patterns, you know we first need our finished our armhole before making the sleeve.
Then we’ll move on to making the sleeve, where we’ll first modify the cup to work with the new armhole and then move on to making the transformation to make the half circle sleeve.
These two techniques can be implemented separately, it is not necessary that every time you want to make a half circle sleeve you have to lower the armhole, it is simply an example of how to do it.
To finish this design I am going to make a facing to clean the neckline that we have made today.

For the hem of the sleeve, we are going to do a pin hem, which we learned in bass class.
You can change all the measurements that I give you in today’s class for those of your personal taste or for your client’s taste.
I have applied this technique on a short sleeve but you can also use this technique with a long sleeve to make a spectacular design.
As always, if you have any questions about today’s class, remember that you can send me an email through your user account, in the support section.

You already know that the best way to learn pattern design is by practising, so for today’s class, I am going to ask you to make the design that you have learned today.
