Welcome to this new creative pattern making class, in today’s class we are going to learn how to make this creative collar.
Remember that the creative pattern classes are my most advanced classes, so I recommend you start with my industrial pattern classes if you do not have much experience.
One of the things you will learn in this class is how to make this collar joint with the darts.
This idea has been in the fashion world for many years, the first time I saw it was at an Alexander Wang show (2013-2014).
As it is a complicated design, in this class you will learn how to make the pattern of this jacket and how to sew it.

I have decided to call this creative collar Cruella as it reminds me of the Disney character of a strong and daring woman. Although I have to confess that I have not seen the new movie.
Whilst the design on my head is a jacket (with sleeves), you can make this collar on dresses, blouses or even leave it as a waistcoat.
As you have seen in today’s class, you can leave the inside of the garment with the facings (clean with the overlock) that I have taught you or you can put a lining on it.
For the button of the jacket, you can put press buttons, snap fasteners or normal buttons.
As always, if you have any questions about this class, you can send me an email through your user account, in the support section.

The best way to learn is to do it yourself, so in today’s class, I am going to ask you to make this jacket with both the pattern and the sewing.
So that I can send you some better feedback, try to send me different pictures of both the sewing process and the pattern.
