Welcome to this new creative pattern making class, in today’s class we will learn how to make this tie collar.
This design is known as a bow collar or tie collar and it is a very striking but quite a commercial design.
In today’s class, you will also see how to modify the bodice so that this design is perfect and it will give you several options to do it.
One of the options that I am going to give you is that you can choose the opening of this design.
This design is quite common to find with a shirt opening, if you would like to do it this way, simply add a shirt placket.
Today you will learn a different way of making a facing, but remember that you can make a more traditional facing or even an all-in-one facing.

As always I have given you all the measurements that I have used but remember that you can change them to your liking or to make different designs.
If you would like the bow to be a huge bow, make the neck wider and longer.
Maybe you prefer a more classic tie. Instead of cutting 1 piece, cut 1 pair and instead of folding it, just sew one piece on each side.
Once we have the neck sewn, depending on our opening, we can finish it in several ways.
For example, if we have decided to put a zip on the back, we could hand sew the loop to make sure it is always done up.
On the other hand, if we have decided to make a shirt opening, we leave the neck free and you or your client can decide what type of lacing they want.
Remember that if you have any questions about this class you can always send me an email through your user account, in the support section.

The best way to learn pattern making is by doing it yourself, so today I recommend that you make this design.
Remember, so that I can send you better comments, please try to send me photos of both the pattern and the toile.
