It feels like just yesterday I launched the Professor Pattern Online Academy (or membership). I remember feeling so nervous (wondering if it would actually work), but also incredibly excited and with a clear goal in mind:
To teach pattern making and sewing in an easy, accessible way, no matter where you are in the world.
Today, we are celebrating our 5th anniversary!
I want to say a huge THANK YOU. To those of you who are subscribed, to those who just joined, and especially to those who have been rocking with me since day one.
This academy is so much more than just a website; it’s your passion for learning and growing
Looking back, I am incredibly proud of what we’ve built together. I love reading the messages from those of you who have managed to turn this into a career because of me.
That message saying you finally understand pattern making and can now make your own clothes.
Or my absolute favourite: a message I received from someone who moved to a new country and was able to use these skills to build a new life and move forward.
If you aren’t a student yet, you can find all the details right here
Thank you for choosing me!
Over the last few months, I’ve been thinking a lot about the future of Professor Pattern, how to improve it and make it sustainable for the long run.
+ One of the changes I’m considering is opening and closing enrollment in windows
This would allow me to focus on marketing only during launch periods, and it would encourage students to commit to their learning for the long term
+ Another change I’m considering is changing the publication date of the classes; instead of having 2 classes per month, I would switch to having no publication date.
This would help me in two ways: first, it takes away the stress of rushing to finish a class by a strict deadline, and second, it allows me to spend more time creating deep-dive classes with the high quality they deserve.
I really need YOUR opinion on this, especially on that last point. If you are a current student, I’d love to hear your thoughts! Please drop me a message through the support section.
